Had a drive go out in the server yesterday. The hotswap spare did its job and I have a 5 drive Raid 5, BUT no time nor any more spares to go. Hopefully it was just the drive that wanted to go south and no more follow suite, but if the site goes down, I may not invest in rebuilding. I don't know yet. Some iteration of this site has been up since 1999 and it's had its busy times, and slow times.

Right now we're slow, so the impact won't be significant. I've backed up all the important stuff, but if it goes and I decide to rebuild, the 20 or so websites on 4 domains may get some serious overhaul and facelifts. So look around, it may be the last time we see this in its present form. But then again, the other drives may last another 10 years!

Happy Mother's Day, especially to my wonderful wife and thanks for all you do for me and the kids. You are our life! Also, to both of our Mom's who are no longer with us, but we think about all the time. We love and miss you!

Site security has been lax and strict in cycles over the years. I keep it fairly secure and easy to use, but if spammers find a back door or undesireables find there way here, I lock it back up for a period of time.

I am doing this because of a possible leak in security where someone's login may have been comprimised to unscrupulous parties and therefore granted them access to areas where they have no business.
