I'm going to bite the bullet and get a new PC. My old box (AGP) is at the end of it's useful life, disk space is the limiter atm but I know I've maxed it out as far as peripherals go (it's 6 years old). I can build a new one but a lot has changed since I priced one out so wondered if anyone had any ideas of where to look for a new setup - wouldn't mind going with a major vendor to spare me learning all the newest specs top to bottom... I really only care about wow performance, I have a PS3 for the 'other' games... Will need an lcd with it as well, the old crt isn't getting any younger and it's 10 now.

I have recently upgraded as well.. but did it as inexpensively as possible.

Bought AMD Motherboard/CPU Combo, 4 GB memory (which is max for the low end boards), 500GB HD, and a 22inch ACER LCD from Tiger Direct via Amazon using Company award money.

My son wanted to upgrade too and I paid half. We went to Compusa and picked up a kit that they had advertised online. Less then 400 for AMD/MB, Case, 4GBs, 1TB HD. But that was low end too. But man that PC smokes compared to what he was using before!
